Mrs. Jacoby’s 1st graders listened to the story The Recess Queen in guidance with Mrs. Waters. Mrs. Jacoby had the class review the story and write about ways to be a Recess Friend. The class was then given a STREAM challenge. They had to work in groups to create a paper playground made out of only the materials given to them ( toilet paper rolls, string, tape, etc.). Each group had to then come up with 3 rules for their playground and present it to the class.
