This week, as part of Hispanic Heritage Month, our middle school students had a cross-curriculum activity in the Media Center where students rotated through several stations with task cards that exposed them to different aspects of the Hispanic culture. They researched notable Hispanic artists like Frida Kahlo, Dali, and Picasso. The students learned about 10 architectural features of Hispanic homes and then “built” their homes in the Maker Space. Sr. Rachel helped them to write letters in Spanish and in English to send to the students in our Sister Diocese in the Dominican Republic. The students also used the ClearTouch Panel to practice vocabulary and to organize a story in sequential order all in Spanish. Our school’s technology makes it exciting to learn!
