Welcome
WELCOME
Welcome to the Extended Care Program at Annunciation Catholic Academy. We are here as a
service to parents; to provide care and supervision of your child either before school
starts or for a period of time after school, until you are able to pick your child up.
This handbook has been put together to provide you, the parent, with some of the
guidelines we will use for the Extended Care Program. Please feel free to contact me if
you should have any questions. In keeping with the philosophy of Annunciation Catholic
Academy, the Extended Care Program is child-centered. The staff strives always to provide
for each child a Catholic Christian environment designed to foster self-esteem and to
develop an appreciation for the dignity of each person.

COMMUNICATIONS
If you have any questions or concerns about the Extended Care program, please feel free
to contact me through our voice mail system. I will gladly return your call as soon as
possible, at night or during the day. However, no one from the staff can be expected to
engage in a lengthy conversation with a parent or guardian during Extended Care hours. Our
first priority is to provide all the children in our care with supervision and our
undivided attention. Thank you for your understanding in this area.
ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS
Children need time after school to relax, release energy and socialize. Many of our
activities will be designed to meet these needs. There is, however, time set aside for
homework. The ages and grades of students will dictate the length of this study time.
Second grade and below will be strongly encouraged to go outside after snack time. Snacks
will be provided by the Extended Care Program at 3:30 PM.
DISCIPLINE
As an integral part of Annunciation Catholic Academy, the Extended Care Program adheres
to the policies set forth in the Annunciation Catholic Academys Parent and Student
Handbook. If a problem arises between or among children, please advise a staff member. A
call to the office is also an option. No parent, however, should seek out and reprimand a
child. This is frightening and confusing for youngsters and can cause even greater
difficulties. Please advise the staff and we will handle the situation.
